Flokati rugs are plush and wool rugs and have been a Greek tradition for centuries on end. The inventors of these rugs were the 5th century Vlachs. They’ve used them primarily as clothing and bedding to keep them warm during the long winter months they’ve spent in mountains.

Pile weight or thicknesses is a very important property of Flokati rugs – it varies between 1200 to 4000 grams/square meter. Most of the rugs above have 2000 grams/m2.
