How to choose the Persian rug that is perfect for your room?

In case you have never seen authentic hand-knotted Persian rugs, I can assure you they are truly works of art. Persian carpets are very unique because there is only 1 rug available in each design, which means once you purchase a Persian rug, you become a proud owner of a one-of-a-kind treasure – absolute exquisiteness.

The antique Persian rugs are 100% authentic and imported treasures that withstand time perfectly, while giving you the comfort and desired ambience you’ve always needed.

The finest Persian carpets are made from silk and are the most expensive of all Oriental rugs. Most examples of antique Persian rugs (above 60 years of age) you'll ever come across date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Persian rugs I am presenting you above are all made of 100% New Zealand wool and most of them are from the Persian Garden Rugs Collection by Momeni Rugs, which makes them very inexpensive.

This collection is inspired by the rarest of antique Persian carpets and is unique with its power-loomed rugs that evoke a sense of the past in modern-day colors and interpretations. Made of 100% New Zealand wool, these rugs feature an abrash effect and hand-surged edges for a quality finish.

It is important for you to know where the rug was actually produced, and for your surprise I will tell you that a surprising number of the modern Persian rugs are actually made in China. So it is the case with the rugs you see above – most are made in China and only one (the hand-tufted) originates from India.

Hand-tufted Persian rugs are the inexpensive versions of the hand-knotted rugs, which are a little more expensive. As for the machine made (programmed) rugs, they are handmade pile rugs of popular classic Persian or other traditional designs, which are woven in a variety of shapes, color combinations and sizes in workshops.

From a construction point of view, programmed rugs are of the same quality as one-of-a-kind (handmade) rugs, and they still require the same amount of hard work and time to be weaved. They are simply a response to the modern lifestyle, which requires more and more modern Persian rugs with antique elements and styles at reasonable prices.
