How to choose the perfect wool rug for your home?

Wool rugs are all natural and made of one of the oldest textile fibers ever known – wool. Wool has survived the test of time for quality because of its unique natural properties:

- Wool is water repellent and fire resistant – all rugs made of wool absorb moisture and repel liquids, and what’s more they are naturally safe against fire.

- Wool is naturally elastic and wears longer – wool area rugs keep their good appearance and stay new-looking longer.

- Wool is a great insulator against noise and cold floors – wool rugs absorb sound and reduce noise level considerably - so you will never ever have any problems with the noisy next-door neighbor :)

- The best quality of all wool area rugs is that they successfully resist dirt and retain their beautiful appearance and stay cleaner longer. The crimp in the wool fiber and the scales on the outside of the fiber assist in keeping dirt from penetrating the surface and also make it easier to clean the carpet.

Wool rugs are very durable and the ones with cotton foundation are very strong and do not loose shape for long - all these makes wool area rugs great for active homes, hallways and entrances.

Wool rugs are perfect for your home environment and most importantly to your health. This is due to their ability to purify indoor air, which also makes them perfect for baby's nursery.

The healthy environment that all wool rugs supply is very important. For example Persian wool rugs rapidly absorb common contaminants in indoor air emitted by construction material such as home paint, furniture, cooking. No matter if you choose wool braided, sisal or Persian rug, you will be sure that it will keep the air in your home free of many harmful pollutants and will not re-emit them back in the air.

A recent research has estimated that wool area rugs can continually purify indoor air for up to 30 years, isn’t it great? All natural and made without chemicals, the wool rugs are completely biodegradable.

Another great benefit of owning a masterpiece wool rug is that no matter how hard your cat may try, she will not be able to claw through the carpet.

Despite the fact that today there are many other textile fibers (some very similar to wool), but yet science has not been able to produce another fiber containing all the natural properties that wool does. This makes wool rugs very unique and masterpieces of carpet design.
